Saphy (short for “Sapphira”) is a beautiful, highly intelligent, female, 5 year old Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog. She was adopted from RSPCA in January. She is obsessed with running, jumping and playing fetch with loads of energy, making her seem younger than her actual age. Saphy also loves to go for a walk, and bonds to her primary care giver super quickly. As Saphy has had a few homes already (previously bounced around the RSPCA due to incompatible homes), she suffers anxiety when separated and left alone. Saphy lives well currently with a toy sized poodle, and we believe Saphy would absolutely love to have a bigger doggy friend who is strong enough to play with her (ideally her friend would not be another ball-obsessed doggy!). We think having a good pal like that would help Saphy feel more comfortable at home when the owners are out. She currently requires high fencing with no possible outlets for escape, and often we now leave her inside the house so that she does not try to find us whilst we are out. As we have a small baby, Saphy’s very strong physical nature and the needs of her breed, mean that she struggles to be relaxed when needed (always wanting to play). That being said, when the primary caregiver (husband) is at work, but others are home, Saphy is happy to relax and sleep and “wait” for him to return home. I am sure she would do so well with training – in her current household with a baby, there has not been the opportunity for this unfortunately.
Ultimately Saphy is a beautiful and friendly dog, with so much energy and love to give. She just needs an owner who can provide lots of activity and a safe environment for her to learn to let go of anxieties that she seems to have from her previous homes. We won’t take her back to the RSPCA because she keeps being re-homes to wrong places – I know she is a beautiful dog and I will wait to find her a perfect match to live out her years. Saphy is located in Ipswich, QLD & is up-to-date with her vaccinations & is on monthly heartworm prevention. Please email me if you are interested in my beautiful Saphy: firstname.lastname@example.org
