Meet Bear the nearly 3 year old cattle dog, born in October.
Bear loves people! He has grown up in our family with 2 young children and has been great with them. Bear is always up for an adventure and just wants to be with his people. He loves to run and will play fetch all day long. He is crate trained.
Bear gets along with some dogs however his rough and dominant style of play can cause issues. For this reason we keep him on a lead around other dogs we don’t know. We are still working on his training in this area and he is making great progress however more work will be required. Bear would not suit a home with cats or small pets.
Bear is eager to please however he is a classic strong headed cattle dog who will sometimes push back when given commands. He will need a leader with a firm hand to train him. I believe he will thrive in a home where he gets plenty of attention and training and where someone will be home with him all the time. He needs plenty of exercise, at least twice a day. He really is a lovely natured boy, he just needs a lot of time and patience to help get him through his younger years into full maturity.
