Parko is a pure-bred blue heeler (Queensland heeler) who loves to be surrounded by his family, he is 4 1/2 years old and has been desexed. He is very extremely loyal, energetic, loves walks, and chasing his ball. He is a solid 20kgs so very strong when we do walk him, we use a harness to make it more comfortable for him if he pulls. He also loves plenty of cuddles is good with kids, our 3yr old daughter loves giving him soft pats and getting him his food.
Parko is an outdoor dog except for after dinner he comes inside for dentastix and a chill out before going to bed (he sleeps in the laundry on his own bed). Parko has never been on our furniture or on our beds, he prefers to lay on the rugs or blankets at our feet once he is inside at night.
He loves his family so much he unfortunately does not like when we leave the house, the vet has diagnosed him with “FOMO” and mild anxiety and has recommended some additional training to what we have previously done. His bark is quite loud and sounds aggressive however its usually when he knows he is missing out on something or if someone has come to the door. To be honest, he would lick them like crazy before hurting them.
Parko is good with other dogs, just not small ones/puppies. We would recommend a secure yard with a high fence as he can jump very high, he has never been a digger but does love the occasional branch of a palm tree.
This is an unfortunate decision for us to make however we don’t the time to walk him like we used to with working fulltime, starting our own business and we have a 3yr old and more recently twin boys. We can give the love he needs but not anything more as we are too busy with our little humans.
We are Gold Coast based and Parko was to go to my brother in Sydney but Covid has changed this plan.
