Hello, my name is Patch and I’m a 12 yr old desexed male cattle dog cross. I live on a farm in Central Qld near Rockhampton and was a loyal and trusted friend to my late owner who passed away recently at the age of 941/2 years. We lived on a farm. I came into her care as a rescue dog 10 years ago when she was fit and active but unfortunately over the last years of her life she developed moderate dementia so most of our time together was quiet and gentle. I miss her. We took many little walks around the paddock for as long as possible before she became unable to continue. Sometimes she would forget and feed me twice.
The farm will need to be sold and I will need a new home. My owner’s family are looking after me in the short term but are not living in an appropriate environment for me looking into the future. I am healthy and happy, I like people including children and other dogs but don’t mix with cats or chooks. I am retired so I rest often but enjoy a play and belly rub.
I have always lived in an unfenced environment but would need a fence at a new home to learn my new boundaries. I would be up to date with any vaccinations needed.
There is so much to my story that I could tell – it’s been a full life so far and I’m looking forward to becoming a loyal friend to someone else. My human family would love to keep in touch if that’ s possible.
